déjà que – already that. In everyday French, déjà que means ‘as it is’.

  • « Oh ben non. Déjà que je suis en retard, je vais pas en plus aller faire les courses. »
    • “Oh, no, no.  I’m late as it is, so I’m not going to do the groceries.”
