je connais le chemin - je sais comment y aller

Both verbs SAVOIR and CONNAITRE mean ‘to know’, hence the difficulty in translating it in French.

to be familiar with something – connaître quelque chose

Nous connaissons le musée de Rennes en Bretagne.

We know the Rennes Museum in Brittany.
