un navet – a turnip. In everyday French, un navet is also used to describe a bad movie, a flop.
- « C’est vraiment dommage que ce film n’ait pas marché car c’est loin d’être un navet. »
- “It is a pity that people didn’t like this movie because it’s far from being a flop.”
