I’d like…

I am at a place in my life where I have time to wonder. My children – I have 2 – are settled in life, and having established my career, I know where I’m going workwise.

It gives me time to think in peace.

The other day, I called a friend who lives in Perros-Guirec on the north coast of Brittany. She told me that she had lots of novels to read, and she said she’d like to finish the books that are piling up on her bedside table. I explained to her that, as I’m spending all my time working, I’d like to start stacking novels on my nightstand.

We had a good laugh and started a wish list. Here is mine:

I’d like to stack novels on my bedside table

I’d like to spend a week on the island of Bréhat

I’d like to see the painters of Pont-Aven another time

I’d like to have a drink on the Canal Saint-Martin

I’d like to go to a concert at the Paris Philharmonie

on the other hand, I wouldn’t want to be at the airport right now because of the strikes

J’aimerais…

Je suis à un moment de ma vie où j’ai le temps de me poser des questions. Mes enfants – j’en ai 2 – sont installés dans la vie et ma carrière étant toute tracée, je sais où je vais dans mon travail.

Ça me donne le temps de réfléchir paisiblement.

L’autre jour, je téléphonais à une copine. Elle habite à Perros-Guirec, sur la côte nord de la Bretagne. Elle me racontait qu’elle avait des tas de romans à lire et elle me disait qu’elle aimerait finir la pile de livres qui s’entassent sur sa table de nuit. Je lui ai expliqué que comme moi je passe tout mon temps au boulot, je voudrais recommencer à empiler des romans sur ma table de nuit.

On a bien rigolé et on a commencé une liste de souhaits. Je vous donne la mienne :

j’aimerais empiler des romans sur ma table de nuit

je voudrais passer une semaine sur l’île de Bréhat

j’aimerais revoir les peintres de Pont-Aven

je voudrais boire un pot sur le Canal Saint-Martin

j’aimerais aller à un concert à la Philharmonie de Paris

d’un autre côté, je ne voudrais pas être à l’aéroport en ce moment à cause des grèves
