Trick-or-Treat in French

Scaaaary!

When my children were little, we lived in France, and Halloween didn’t really exist there. However, we knew several Franco-American families and we organized our own Halloween party so that children could dress up and go get treats.

Here is a nice nursery rhyme I made up to beg candy at Halloween.

Trick or treat – Bêtise ou friandise

Trick or treat, smell my feet
give me something good to eat
if you don’t, I don’t care
I’ll pull down your underwear

Une bêtise, une friandise

Allez ! Donne-moi un bonbon

Si t’as pas de gourmandises

Je te lancerai du charbon !
