Sentences in French

In this course, we’ll study the way French sentences are.

We’ll take a look at 2 forms of sentences:

affirmative sentences – sentences that make a positive statement.

  • I’m taking an online class with Anne.

negative sentences – sentences that make a negative statement.

  • I’m not taking an online class with Anne.

We will also see 2 types of sentences:

interrogative sentences – sentences that ask a question. They end with a question mark (?)

  • Are we taking an online class with Anne?

exclamatory sentences – sentences that express an emotion. They often end with an exclamation point (!). or sometimes with a simple period (.)

  • Yay! I’m taking an online class with Anne!

Dans ce cours, nous étudions la phrase en français.

Nous nous intéresserons aux 2 formes de la phrase :

affirmative – pour exprimer une affirmation.

  • Je vais en cours en ligne avec Anne.

négative – pour exprimer une négation.

  • Je ne vais pas en cours en ligne avec Anne.

Nous verrons également 2 types de phrases :

interrogative – pose une question. Elle se termine par un point d’interrogation (?)

  • Est-ce que je vais en cours en ligne avec Anne ?

exclamative – exprime une émotion. Elle se termine par un point d’exclamation (!) ou moins souvent par un point (.)

  • Super ! Je vais en cours en ligne avec Anne!
