Saint Patrick’s Day

La Saint-Patrick

St. Patrick’s Day, spelled with a hyphen in French, is an Irish holiday. However, it is celebrated all over the world nowadays.

I am Breton. My culture is thus Celtic and it is with great pleasure that I join my Irish cousins in celebrating Ireland, everyone named Patrick and the Celtic culture.

This very fun topic is just  another angle for us get better in French with this course. We will study St. Patrick’s Day, its Irish national symbol, the shamrock, and we’ll visit French Leprechauns. Then, from that to the four-leaf clover and superstitions in France. And we’ll also review first names. So many things to go over, just to learn more vocabulary, some grammar and tips about French culture.

___________________________
