Le mois d’octobre

En octobre et novembre, c’est le vin qui intéresse les Français. Je suis allée au supermarché, chez Leclerc ce matin et la foire aux vins avait déjà commencé. Et je suis contente car j’ai trouvé un cours d’œnologie super. On apprend à faire des accords mets et vins, on va même faire des excursions dans des châteaux. Ce sont des cours du soir ; comme ça, ça ne me bloque pas le week-end. Il y a plusieurs ateliers, pour tous les niveaux. J’ai commencé en débutant, et je suis arrivée au perfectionnement avec un atelier du terroir. Le prof est un sommelier diplômé de l’Université du Vin et ce que j’aime bien, c’est qu’ils ne vendent pas de vin. C’est donc du sérieux.

October, the month of the wine

In October and November, the French are really interested in wine. I went to the Leclerc supermarket this morning,  and the wine fair had already started. And I’m happy because I found a great wine course. We’re learning wine pairing, we even go on field trips to castles. Classes are at night; that way I’m not tied up on the weekend. There are several workshops, for all levels. I started out as a beginner, and I now moved up to an advanced level with a terroir* workshop. The teacher is a graduate form the Wine University and what I like, is that they don’t sell any wine. Therefore it’s serious business.
