c’est le printemps – French expression

Spring Crocus

c’est le printemps – it’s spring – Mot du Jour

c’est le printemps – it is the spring.  c’est le printemps is pretty straight forward and means ‘it’s spring’. Many of my students hesitate between ‘C’est le printemps’ and ‘Il est le printemps’. With an article and a noun, ‘c’est‘ is the one to pick.

  • « Trop bien, il fait enfin beau. C’est le printemps et je vais pouvoir aller faire une marche. »
    • “Great, it’s finally nice out. It’s spring and I’ll be able to go for a walk.”
