new year’s resolutions – Mot du Jour

les bonnes résolutions – the good resolutions. That’s the way French people talk about new year’s resolutions. les bonnes résolutions means ‘the New Year’s resolutions’.

The verb used with ‘les bonnes résolutions’ in French is PRENDRE: prendre des bonnes résolutions.

  • « Cette année, mes bonnes résolutions sont de ne pas prendre de bonnes résolutions. Comme ça, je ne serai pas déçue. »
    • This year, my new year’s resolutions are to not make any new year’s resolutions. That way, I won’t be disappointed.”
